What does DPAC do?
The mission of the Doncaster Parent Auxiliary Council (DPAC) is to:
- enhance and support the educational experience for students at Doncaster.
- foster a sense of community and develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement.
- coordinate educational, informational, social and fundraising events for the school and community as a whole.
- directly support the mission and vision of the school through our volunteer commitment and financial support.
Here are some ways that DPAC funds are allocated:
- Playground equipment and bike racks
- Social activities for the whole school
- Extracurricular clubs and events
- Professional dramatic and musical performances
- Teacher allotments that are spent on supplies and activities for the students
- Emergency preparedness supplies
- Library books
- Physical education equipment
- Art, music, computer and technological resources and supplies
- Health-based programs and activities
- Parent education and resources
- Stencils on the tarmac
- Stationary bicycles
- Hokki stools
- Pay for presenters to come in
Example use of DPAC Classroom Funds:
- Specialty art and craft supplies
- Outing to Goldstream
- Melty beads for fine motor centre
- Literacy prizes for home reading program
- Field Trip to Swan Lake
- Seeds and soil for classroom planting
- Mini Etch A Sketch for literacy centres
- Chapter books to upgrade classroom books
- Supplies for baking gingerbread houses
